Front Yard

All that was added that has a visual impact on the exterior is add plantation shutters inside (sadly only on the front windows - boy were they pricey!) and paint the front door. I planted a few flowers, but they're dieing. :(

Wish List: totally revamp flower bed, flower pots/urns flanking garage door, house number plaque, shutters, paint front door purple.

Front Office

So, those are pretty much the befores. we added the plantation shutters...that one dog likes to open - with his teeth! :( 

Making some progress!

Wish list: New floors, matching computer desks, paint, pretty computer chairs,  extra seating, decorative table, lamps, overhead lighting, bulletin/chalkboard(?), entry table, wall art, accessories

Powder Room

The before photos are really bad...but they're not supposed to be good, right??

I painted the bathroom the same blue as the kitchen, swapped out the builder's plain mirror, and added some accessories.

 

Sorry for the terrible pictures! This bathroom is a very long skinny rectangle and it's impossible for a novice photographer like me to get good shots!!!

Wish List: Wall art and maybe chair rail moldings or board and batten. I still can't decide if I want them or not.

Kitchen and Nook

The real "before" kitchen was just the same neutral color as in all the other "before" photos. I didn't really have a plan, but I always wanted a red kitchen; so, I painted it red.

And now it's blue! I also stenciled the wall on the right hand side; it wraps around the corner and carries over into the office.

Wish List: Paint walls, paint cabinets white (?), cabinet hardware, island, laminate floors, stainless steel appliances, decor for above cabinets, fridge, and buffet, fun pantry door, new table and chairs, update counter tops. Check out that teapot lamp!

Makeover stage 2:

Wish List: New floor, accessories, permanent side tables (the peacock one is for sale and the other I don't quite know what to do with!), bookcase (?), accessorize the tv wall

Stairway and Hall

I stenciled the laundry room doors; so they serve as an art piece in themselves! Then I painted all the trim in the hallway, including the railing. I also, finally completed  my thrifted frame gallery wall!

Wish List: paint railing white, gallery wall, pull up carpet and do something unique with the stairs.

Laundry Closet

 

I have big plans for this little closet! So far, my sloppiness has not been an improvement! I'm so glad I can just shut those doors and it's "clean"!!! ;)

Wish List: paint inside, paint doors, move units over to the left, build linen closet on right, install garment hanger/dryer, chandelier.

Guest/Ethan's Bathroom

I'm so in love with this bathroom! You can read all about the guest bathroom reveal here. Really the only change is paint and accessories. I am hoping for a new counter top one day.

Ethan's Bedroom

I painted his bedroom a dark blue and red. That chrome boarder is actually car detailing tape. You can see how his room looked on the first makeover here. Also, how my inspiration came from the HGTV Dream Home 2009 kid's room.

Then I gave his room a mini makeover by rearranging the furniture, giving him a little reading/homework area thanks to that $30 secretary dresser, and finally updating that transformers bedding!

His room looks good overall. However, I would still like to update the lighting and add some drapes.

Guest Room

The inspiration for the guest room came from the HGTV Dream Home 2009. Read about the comparison of their guest room to ours here. The room was originally just empty, and I slowly started adding pieces of furniture as I found and redid them.

I transformed every piece of furniture in this room. I painted the bed and each table pictured above. For more info on that killer black sewing table, look here!

Wish List: make/hang curtains, make area rug, cover those giant throw pillows, chandelier.
